Admissions

For over 25 years, the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs has been inspiring a life-long love of learning in its students, cultivating academic knowledge, artistic work, and practical skills.

The best way to learn more about a Waldorf School education is to see it for yourself. We offer regularly scheduled tours and observation mornings which provide an ideal opportunity to see our school and see the education in action. Open Houses are also scheduled throughout the year and provide a more relaxed atmosphere to tour the building and meet the faculty. To RSVP or to find out more about upcoming events, please visit our calendar, or contact the Admissions Office at (518) 587-2224.

Our admissions procedure has been designed to help parents discover what is unique about a Waldorf education. Choosing a school for your child is important and thoughtful decision, involving many steps - asking questions, reading, visiting, filling out forms, meeting with faculty and administrators, meeting other students. It is a thorough process that provides parents with the opportunity to gain and understanding and appreciation of our school and Waldorf education.

Thank you for your interest in our school. After reviewing information about the school and meeting with the Enrollment Director for an introduction, we hope that you will choose to apply. The application procedure is as follows:

1. Application: Complete the application form and parent questionnaire and submit both documents to the Admissions Office. You may call our Enrollment Director for an application packet or download an application online.

2. Submission of Previous School Records: Students entering kindergarten through grade 12 must submit a signed Records Release form along with the application materials.

3. Parent/Student Interview: Upon receipt of the application, the parent(s) and child will be scheduled to meet with two teachers for an in-depth discussion of the school's program and your child's educational background.

4. School Visit: Your child may be invited to spend one to three days with the class, before or after the interview.

5. Acceptance: You will be notified by mail regarding the status of your child's application within 10 business days following the interview.

6. Tuition Assistance: Parents of students in first through twelfth grade are eligible to apply for need-based tuition assistance. Forms are available from either the Admissions Office or Finance Office once the student is accepted to the school. An application fee is required.

7. Admissions Meeting: The final step, which must be completed before your child may begin attending class, is to meet with the Enrollment Director and/or Business Manager. At this time you will complete the enrollment packet (emergency card, health registration form, etc.), the tuition contract, make an initial payment and finalize your financial arrangements with the school. The family will also receive the school's registration packet. Students will not be allowed to attend classes or participate in school functions without parents having completed this paperwork.
