Foreign Language Exchange and Boarding Program

Foreign Language Exchange Program
In 10th and 11th grades, WSSS students have an opportunity to participate in a foreign language exchange program with other Waldorf schools in Europe. The exchanges are organized with schools from countries where German and French (the two languages taught in our school) are the native languages: Germany, Austria, France, and Switzerland. Students considering applying for an exchange must be in good academic and social standing. After completing the application process, our students study abroad for 4 to 6 months. In exchange, the Waldorf student from their European host family spends the same amount of time at our school and our student serves as the host. Upon returning home, advanced language studies are offered to our students, whose language proficiency has significantly improved. Advanced studies are organized in the context of WSSS language classes, as well as with Skidmore College.

Boarding Program
Students in grades 9 through 12 in the United States and throughout the rest of the world have the opportunity to experience anywhere from a semester to four years at The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs High School. Students are able to apply to the school and attend classes, without being residents in the Saratoga area. The enrollment office will put you in touch with families willing to host students.

The advent of the Waldorf Schools was in my opinion the greatest contribution to world peace and understanding of the century.
