About Us

Extracurricular Activities

Track & Field and Cross Country
WSSS has teams for Cross Country in the fall, Indoor Track in the winter, and Track and Field each spring. Our students train and compete against students from other schools, public and private, in local meets.

Juggling and Circus Arts Club
Juggling club is open to all students 4th grade through High School. It runs from November through April and is one of the highlight of our Spring Assembly for the public.

Ski Club
Ski Club is open to all families in the school. The club members meet at West Mountain weekly to enjoy snowboarding and skiing January through March.

Roots and Shoots
The Roots and Shoots club, a chapter of the international Roots and Shoots program of the Jane Goodall Institute, has been meeting in the high school since 2001. Our mission is to promote awareness and action that improves our world in three areas: human communities, animal communities, and the environment. Projects have included energy reduction initiatives in the high school, fund raising to support nomadic reindeer herders in Mongolia, children's programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa, and a public education watershed protection program in Saratoga Springs.

Additional extra curricular activities and clubs, such as Chess Club or Dance Club, may form on a yearly basis depending on student and faculty interest.

I am deeply grateful for Waldorf education, which woke me up and helped me rediscover my imagination.
