ADMISSIONS

Greetings from the Admissions Office!

Hello and Welcome to the

Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs!

The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs is

proud to have been serving the children and

families of the upstate New York region for

over 40 years. We are the only independent school in the area that offers education starting as early as 18 months through 8th grade, on three distinct campuses.

Students that graduate from our school receive a New York State Regents diploma as well as the confidence to take on their next endeavor. Here at Waldorf, we believe in nurturing every child so they are able to reach their fullest potential. Students that have graduated from our school have gone on to a wide array of careers such as law, medicine, arts and science, to name a few!

The Waldorf School derives its pedagogy from the picture of child development presented by Rudolf Steiner, who stated that every child should have the opportunity to receive a quality education that sets them up for their own individual future and freedom in thinking. Here at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, we strive to follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets every one of our students. With small class sizes, an emphasis on dialogue and discussion, and human connection and interaction, each student is encouraged by all of our school's educators. Our teachers are trained to cater to the individual within the group dynamic to help everyone along their educational journey.

With beautiful outdoor space at all three campuses, students learn that education is not just in a classroom, but all around them. Our faculty take advantage of the unique parks and trails in our urban setting, as well as the State and National Parks in the upstate country setting, incorporating nature and the surrounding environment into the lessons. Students take trips as a whole class to further their perspective of community which encourages our students to broaden their scope of knowledge, develop an appreciation for diversity, and to foster creative thinking in collaboration with others.

During the pandemic, the Waldorf School continued to do whatever it could to help ensure that its students were receiving the quality education they deserve. Now, fully back in the classroom, our teachers are eager to work with the students to make sure each child excels in their education.

In the Admissions Office, we want to do as much as we can to help you in your Waldorf education as well. From offering tours, to open houses, we are here to answer any questions you may have. Our hope is to expand our school and show that Waldorf is open to all those interested.

Please feel free to look over our website and reach out with any inquiries you may have!

Sincerely Yours,

Alexandra Queenan
