“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.”
— John Lubbock
OUTDOOR EDUCATION
The research is overwhelming — children who spend more time outdoors do better in school, have better executive functions, have less ADHD, are physically healthier and less likely to become obese. From our unique Forest Kindergarten for our youngest students, to our third grade farm trip, to high school immersion trips to places like Hermit Island, ME, taking our curriculum outside provides an opportunity to learn things on a deeper sensory and even emotional level, not only imparting knowledge of facts, but allowing true understanding
to develop.
