  • Nicole VanZandt

    Nicole VanZandt

    Nicole holds a B.A. and M.A. in English literature from the University of Connecticut, with a concentration in Irish Literature. She served as an adjunct instructor at Purdue University, taught English at the Hopkins School in New Haven, CT, then worked as an editor at Redspring Communications/McMurry Inc. in Saratoga. She stayed home for ten years with her children and helped her husband manage their rental property business before embarking on a new career in 2020 with the Waldorf School. She has three children who currently attend the Waldorf Lower School and all three of whom went to Waldorf preschool.

    Jefferson holds an A.A.S in Early Childhood Education from Hudson Valley Community College, a B.A. in English from The Sage Colleges, a M.S. from Sage Graduate School and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Building Leadership from The College of Saint Rose.

    Upon exiting the classroom following a successful 10 year teaching term he embarked on his educational administration career. Serving in multiple roles including Assistant Principal, Instructional Supervisor and Principal over the past decade he has developed a strong pedagogy of student, staff and curriculum development.

    When not serving his school community, he enjoys spending time with his family playing games of all sorts, traveling near and far and just relaxing here in his hometown of Saratoga Springs.

    Jefferson is elated to join the Waldorf School and community at large.

    Lauren earned a B.S. in Environmental Forest Biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2005. She then moved to Saratoga Springs in the fall of 2005 and worked in a research lab for the NYS Department of Health as a research scientist. In 2011, she helped launch Advanced Environmental Geology, LLC, an environmental and geologic consulting firm in Clifton Park and worked there until 2018. She has worked for many of the local farms at the summer Saratoga Springs Farmer's Market from 2010-2018. Lauren has 3 children and recently moved to Manchester Vermont with her husband and 3 children.

    Theresa comes to us from the Saratoga YMCA, where she worked the front desk and interacted with families every day for more than six years. Before that, she managed a jewelry store for over eight years. She loves photography, writing, and getting to know people. Theresa is excited to join the staff at The Waldorf Lower School this Fall.

    Danielle holds a B.A. from SUNY New Paltz in Art Education, with a concentration in Graphic Design and an M.A. from SUNY Plattsburgh in Curriculum and Instruction. She enjoys drawing, painting, spending time with her husband, son and two step daughters. She is excited to join the staff at Waldorf.

  • Sullay Harke

    Sullay will begin in her new position on February 19th, while school is on break for winter vacation. She comes from an office administration job, where she's worked for the past 7 years. In her free time she loves to read, enjoys weekly family game nights and loves to travel. She is very excited to start working at Waldorf.
