Greetings from the Admissions Office and thank you for your interest in our school.
The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs is entering our 39th year as a private, independent school in our community, and we are prepared and positioned to thrive during this unprecedented time. Our faculty and staff are committed to continue what we do best: providing an immersive, experiential, developmentally appropriate curriculum. We will be utilizing our existing one-of-a-kind outdoor spaces and creating new outside classrooms to protect the health and safety of our community.
Our reopening plans have been submitted and we will be in full compliance with regulations and best practices issued by New York State, the CDC, and our local Department of Health. We have upgraded our facilities to increase health and safety measures. Our small class sizes, large indoor/outdoor classroom spaces, and multiple campuses allow for social distancing to reduce risk. Daily health screenings and temperature checks, hand washing protocols, wearing face masks, and social distancing will be incorporated into our daily routine.
Arranged on four distinct campuses, we are the only independent school in the region that offers a full Preschool through Grade 12 curriculum. Although our school is small, it is not our size that matters, but the principles upon which our school was founded and the values that inspire and support our curriculum and our work with students. We hold true to the tenets of Waldorf Education while seeking ways in which to evolve and fully prepare our students to achieve their highest human capacity of self-knowledge, self-reliance, and self-assurance.
Our curriculum is intentionally designed to meet students at each developmental stage. We build healthy relationships, provide multiple, experiential and immersive learning opportunities, offer full integration of art, music, and movement into academics, and prepare our students for a rapidly changing world.
Our students understand that they play an integral role in their community and in the world; not asking what they are to be given but what each can contribute in his or her own unique way.
