Caregiver-child playgroups

Based on the respectful, caregiving approach of early childhood pioneers Emmi Pickler and Magda Gerber, our Playgroups offer each child and caregiver the opportunity to take a break from the busyness of everyday life and come together in a warm home-like setting to enjoy time together.

Under the guidance of a Waldorf-trained Early Childhood Teacher and their caregiver, each child will enjoy free play (both indoors and outdoors), a nutritious snack time, and a circle time with songs and lap games. Caregivers will participate in both quiet observation and lively discussions about child development, parenting issues, and Waldorf education, with special attention to the importance of rhythm and routine, sleep, self-initiated play and the social development of the child.

Registration may be completed online, and a sign-up link will be provided approximately two weeks prior to the session start date.

If you’d like to be notified when registration for the next playgroup opens, please email admissions@waldorfsaratoga.org.
